NAVAL OFFICERS ASSAULT MR. OJOGO MALO OVER UNPAID DEBT

Today, the 4th day of May, 2025, a disturbing incident has been reported in Ugbonla Community, Ilaje Local Government where a group of naval officers whisked Mr. Malo from Olotu Community to Ugbonla and caused him grievous assault over an unpaid debt of ₦200,000 owed to Mr. Olasimbo Igbamerun.

The assault has left Mr. Malo in a state of distress, requiring hospitalization at the General Hospital in Igbokoda.

It was also gathered that some military officers thereafter went to meet Mr. Malo in the hospital and were questioning why he had to report his ordeal to his lawyer.

The incident has sparked concerns about the use of violence to resolve financial disputes.

Many are questioning why the matter wasn’t handled through proper channels, such as reporting it to the police if a crime has been allegedly committed or seeking redress in court.

The situation highlights the need for peaceful resolution of disputes, even in cases involving financial obligations.

It also raises questions about the role of military personnel in civilian matters and the potential consequences of taking the law into one’s own hands.

The public is humbly notified of the incessant assault on civilians and breach of the fundamental rights by military personnel in the area.

This madness and dehumanization of our people in Ilaje must stop.

We are raising a petition to Abuja on behalf ilajes living in the riverine over the manner they are being treated by Naval personnel. We are humans.
