Unveiling Afolabi, The Face Of Excellence
History has been made in Nigeria’s educational landscape as 15-year-old Afolabi Olumide Ayodeji shatters a long standing record in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scoring an unprecedented 370, the highest mark recorded in over a decade.
For more than 10 years, no candidate nationwide has achieved this extraordinary feat.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) confirmed that no individual has scored 370 since at least 2013, making Afolabi’s achievement a true landmark in academic excellence.
The record is an all time one, since the commencement of JAMB CBT in 2013.
Afolabi, a brilliant young scholar with an insatiable thirst for knowledge, has become the pride of a nation hungry for positive youth representation.
A student of Icons Comprehensive College Ijapo Estate, Akure, Ondo State, with his dedication, discipline, and academic prowess have not only earned himself this incredible score, but have also reignited a national conversation about nurturing young intellectual talent.
Today, we proudly unveil the face of this young prodigy to the world, a face that symbolizes brilliance, determination, and hope for the future of education in Nigeria.
Speaking on his achievement, Afolabi expressed humility and gratitude, as he said that, “I didn’t set out to break any record, I only wanted to give my best, I thank God, my parents, and my teachers for believing in me.”
This achievement serves as a clarion call to educational stakeholders, mentors, and policymakers to invest deeper in identifying and supporting gifted students across the nation.
Afolabi’s story is not just about one boy’s record breaking score, it is about what is possible when potential meets opportunity.

At time in Nigeria we heard that 15 year old children should not be allowed to gain admission into universities. Now, will this Afolabi be admitted into university?
Wow
Actually someone has a higher score than him this jamb
He did well
But it would be better to confirm first
That’s impressive!
Jamb is supposed to give him a full scholarship in his choice course and institution as a reward.
Someone in my school got higher with 372, in Oritamefa Baptist Model School Ibadan, Total Garden
Someone in my daughters school scored 340 in hope Jon school abuja karu. Her name is Jenifer.
Congratulations MJ.
Did you see that yourself or you were told
Jamb said a 15 year old is not qualify to write jamb so what is happening here?
Is He/she below the age mentioned above
I wrote jamb last year with aggregate of 230 while I wrote mock this year with aggregate of 260 how come my utme results is 167 pls help me maybe they can consider me to re write
I wrote jamb but I was borther how I scored
I hope the underage rule of jamb can now be seen as a wicked policy. The parents of the so called “underaged” were asked by jamb to sign an undertaking that the innocent children will accept any sanction jamb imposes on them if they fail to score outstanding marks. If the parents of this boy did not take the risk the boy’s destiny may have been altered.
The sanctions were not even stated. Who can be so sure of outstanding performance for a student in our error filled circumstances.
JAMB should be made to reverse the wicked policy with immediate effect.
There’s nothing like wicked policy, these kids are still little. There’s a lot going on in the university, which requires a mature mind. At least 17 years won’t be bad, so that they can handle bullying and the rest. I mean where are they even rushing to?
So you mean they should be wasting people precious time for example I have been sitting for Jamb for the past 7years I graduated from secondary school and yet the score is always below 200 and my body fit is like that of a bouncer and you expect this to continue and my dream is to study Civil engineering and yet this as not been possible since I graduated from secondary school
Like seriously jamb just be doing anyhow like they are the mini god on earth saying rubbish even though I got 322 jamb still be acting any how I am underage though but seriously jamb should loosen up that so called policy of theirs 🤦
Go to India and U.K you will see 17 year old PhD holders. Let’s encourage exceptionally gifted children to excel rather than trying to kill their dreams with obnoxious policies.
What policy are you even talking about??? Are you in the boy’s school???
I will appeal that the underaged children that falls on the proposed age 16yrs from January to December should be accepted as they falls into the bracket and as university admits the next year. The results of the underaged should be released for them to know their performances, to motivate them education wise, this will promote and encourage our children to develop interest in education and not killing their interest.
Same score from Nigerian tulip international college
This is great. Keep it up, boy.
More wins ahead.

Great achievement but this is not the highest so far. A boy in my school score 374/400

Good day Sir, this is how you advertise in order to promote your schools and creep in problem to most of the University. I am in the system and l know the mess and this young underage are causing in the University, they thought they are still in the primary and secondary schools. What is the hurrying for parents? Universities are full of premature students. Stop this nonsense we acknowledged the the Jamb score but not yet.
I wrote a trial jamb last year in which I didn’t really prepare at all,in fact we haven’t finish majority of our syllabus in school the and I scored 191 buh this year was really bad,I prepared extraordinary this year,I went to different lesson apart from school, joined different online tutorials, studied different past questions day and night and also prayed a lot but despite all odds,I scored 189.its really heartbreaking and embarrassing to me
I thank God so much for this boy, if it was obtained in a good way I tap from the anointing to succeed and to be blessed thank you Jesus

JAMB should be able to give us the best ten students in this year’s JAMB, Kehinde Jaiyesimi Jesulayomi scored 368 of Pacific Academy Shagari village, Akure, Ondo state. We should encourage these students from the cradle.
Pls how come some underage see their scores but I have somebody that is underage they just shows underage and proceeding why not show her score

Congratulations to the boy.
Not the highest yet. At least I know of another 15 years old boy too with 371 in deeper life high school.
I hope they remove the embargo on 15 year olds. And rather improve the system in universities that will foster safe learning environment for the young chaps.
Yes
Cecil right?
All that JAMB is doing is to calm the tension and agitation of the concerned Nigerians, there was complete error in the the last utme exam. Whether they are admitting under 16 or not, let’s know what they scored.
