Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Public Affairs, Aliyu Audu, has stepped down from his position with immediate effect.
In a one-page resignation letter dated June 8 and addressed through the President’s Chief of Staff, Audu announced his decision to vacate the role, expressing gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve.
“I write to formally tender my resignation… effective immediately,” the letter stated. “It has been an honour to contribute to the public communication efforts of this administration.”
Audu also extended appreciation to former presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, whose recommendation led to his appointment on August 26, 2023.
He concluded the letter with well-wishes for the administration: “Please accept the assurances of my highest esteem and continued prayers for the success of your leadership and the progress of our beloved nation.”
As of press time, the Presidency had yet to issue an official response to the resignation.
