As Nigeria commemorates Democracy Day, renowned legal luminary and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Bashorun Ifedayo Adams Adedipe, has called on citizens to remain steadfast in their commitment to the principles of democracy.
In a statement marking the occasion, Adedipe reflected on Nigeria’s democratic journey, emphasizing the importance of freedom, justice, and good governance.
“Democracy is the triumph of the people’s will — the power to choose, to speak, and to shape our collective destiny,” he said. “It is a legacy earned through struggle, sustained by sacrifice, and nourished by the hope of a better tomorrow.”
Commending the resilience of Nigerians, especially the people of Ondo State, Adedipe urged greater civic engagement and a renewed dedication to nation-building.
“Democracy thrives when we uphold truth, fairness, and participate actively in the civic process. We must continue to hold our leaders accountable and work together for peace, unity, and national progress,” he stated.
