The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Ondo State Branch, has declared the commencement of an indefinite industrial action, effective Friday, June 13, 2025.
In an official notice signed by the branch secretary, Alade Kehinde, the union cited the Ondo State Government’s failure to honor key aspects of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on May 20, 2015, as the reason behind the strike.
The union had earlier issued a 7-day ultimatum on June 4, 2025, demanding action from the state government. However, with no tangible response forthcoming, JUSUN says it has no choice but to withdraw its services.
“All our members are hereby directed to stay off duty starting from June 13 until further notice,” the statement read. “We urge our members to comply fully with the industrial action guidelines.”
The union expressed appreciation to its members for their solidarity and resilience during the ongoing struggle for justice and workers’ rights.
“A People United Can Never Be Defeated!” the notice concluded.
