In a heartfelt expression of gratitude, Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, the newly nominated Commissioner Designate in Ondo State, has extended thanks to God Almighty and the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for what she calls a “humbling elevation.”

Dr. Osamaye, who previously served as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, was recently named Commissioner Designate by Governor Aiyedatiwa. She described the appointment as a divine blessing and a milestone in her journey of service and advocacy.

“I, Dr. Seun Osamaye, wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty for the gift of this nomination as Commissioner Designate. I am humbled and honored by this recognition,” she stated.

She also lauded Governor Aiyedatiwa for his trust in her leadership and commitment to women’s empowerment.

“I sincerely appreciate His Excellency, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for the confidence reposed in me. Elevating me from Special Adviser to Commissioner is not just a promotion, it’s a call to deeper service. I pledge my unwavering loyalty and support to your administration.”

Dr. Osamaye further thanked the women of Ondo State for their continued support during her tenure as Special Adviser, and acknowledged the encouragement of her home constituency in Ifedore Local Government Area.

PROFILE: A Trailblazer in Education, Advocacy, and Leadership

Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye FCISM, FAFUED, is a multi-award-winning academic, gender advocate, and development strategist with nearly two decades of experience across education, policy, and grassroots mobilization.

She began her teaching career at Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, after graduating as the best student in her class. Her journey in academia and public service reflects a rare blend of intellect, compassion, and transformative leadership. She holds a Ph.D. in English Language from Nasarawa State University, Keffi, a Master’s degree from Obafemi Awolowo University, and a B.A. (Ed) in English from Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo.

Dr. Osamaye has served in various high-impact capacities including as Senior Legislative Aide on Gender Equality to the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, now Chief of Staff to the President. In this role, she championed the implementation of the VAPP Act and partnered with civil society groups to fight sexual and gender-based violence.

A Proven Advocate for Women and the Underserved

Since 2019, Dr. Osamaye has spearheaded numerous empowerment programs under her humanitarian initiative “Give Back a Portion,” which has benefited thousands of women, youths, and vulnerable persons in Ifedore LGA. Her philanthropic efforts include donating vehicles, household items, and establishing a 200-capacity faculty library at her alma mater—funded solely through her personal means.

She is also the founder of the O’datiwa Women Initiative, an empowerment platform under the Ondo State government that supports women in entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, and inclusion, especially for women with disabilities.

“Women are the backbone of our communities. Through education and empowerment, we give them the tools to lift their families and society,” she emphasized.

Recognition and Political Impact

Dr. Osamaye has held leadership positions within the All Progressives Congress (APC), including as National President of the Progressive Young Women Forum. She played a pivotal role in the 2023 presidential campaign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through her position as National Coordinator of the Progressive Change Agents Initiative (PCAi), an election intelligence group.
