In a powerful display of compassion and social responsibility, the Ondo State Government, under the leadership of Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has offered employment, housing, and essential support to Iromidayo Millionaire — a young woman who once faced homelessness and went viral in a video that caught the attention of the public earlier this year.
The heartwarming development follows coordinated efforts by the state’s Ministry of Women Affairs, led by Commissioner-designate Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, who initially intervened in Iromidayo’s situation in April.
Now, taking the support a step further, the government has secured a rented apartment and household items for Iromidayo, and most notably, has offered her a temporary job as an instructor at the soon-to-be-launched Skills Acquisition Centre in the state.
The symbolic handover of keys to her new home took place at the state Welfare Home in Akure.
Representing Dr. Osamaye at the event, the Director of Social Welfare, Mr. Oyegunwa Adebayo, expressed the administration’s unwavering commitment to Iromidayo’s full reintegration and empowerment.
“This is not a one-time intervention,” said Mr. Adebayo. “The government will continue to support Iromidayo beyond this point. The goal is complete transformation and a sustainable livelihood.”
The new role offered to her aligns with Governor Aiyedatiwa’s broader agenda of providing second chances and empowering the vulnerable.
According to Dr. Osamaye, the employment is a stepping stone toward full societal reintegration, allowing Iromidayo to gain skills, build confidence, and inspire others through her journey.
Iromidayo, visibly emotional, expressed deep gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa and Dr. Osamaye for what she described as a “miraculous turnaround” in her life.
“I never thought I would smile again, let alone work, have a home, and feel this much love,” she said. “God bless Governor Aiyedatiwa and everyone who has helped me.”
This initiative underscores the Aiyedatiwa-led administration’s commitment to human welfare, particularly in addressing the needs of the marginalized.
Through proactive policies and genuine outreach, the government continues to lead by example in restoring dignity and hope to its citizens.
As Iromidayo begins a new chapter, her story stands as a testament to what can be achieved when government meets compassion with action.
