2027: Ondo West Constituency Two demands Justice after 26 Years of Marginalization

by Roving

A rising tide of political activism is sweeping across Ondo West Constituency 2, as citizens, community leaders, and political advocates rally against what they describe as “systemic exclusion” from political representation and state development.

Since the return of democratic governance in 1999, the constituency — home to several agrarian and culturally significant communities — has not produced a single representative at the National Assembly, a commissioner in the Ondo State Executive Council, or held any major federal appointment.

Meanwhile, neighbouring constituencies, Ondo East and Ondo West 1, have consistently occupied strategic political offices including that of governor, senator, speaker of the House, and federal minister.

A comprehensive data review shared by concerned citizens outlines a stark imbalance:

Ondo East has produced Members of the House of Representatives for 16 years.

Ondo West 1 has held the seat for 12 years.

Ondo West 2: 0 years.

“This is not a coincidence; it is a pattern of political exclusion that must end,” said Chief Tunde Ogundele, a respected community elder from Ward 6. “We have educated leaders, community contributors, and loyal voters — yet we are invisible when it’s time to share political dividends.”

In response, a growing coalition has thrown its weight behind Dr. Michael Akintomide Ajilo, a respected medical professional, academic, and grassroots mobilizer, to contest the House of Representatives seat in 2027.

Dr. Ajilo, founder of the MADE Foundation and an advocate for community development, is being positioned as the candidate to break the decades-long political drought in the constituency.

“Ajilo represents more than a candidacy — he represents a reckoning, a rightful demand for justice, and a future where Ondo West 2 is seen, heard, and represented,” declared Comrade Sade Ojo, youth leader from Ward 5.

The movement, already gaining momentum across social media with hashtags like #Ajilo2027 and #JusticeForConstituency2, is calling on political parties to zone the House of Representatives ticket to Ondo West Constituency 2 in the next election cycle.

Traditional rulers, youth associations, and civil society groups are also being urged to champion the cause of equity, inclusion, and fair representation.

As the 2027 elections approach, all eyes are on how Ondo political stakeholders will respond to what many now regard as a clarion call for political justice.

The people of Ondo West Constituency 2 are no longer asking — they are demanding.
