In the wake of a trending online video accusing him of neglecting Idanre Local Government Area, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, SAN, has responded with firm rebuttals, making it clear that his constitutional duties do not include road construction or hospital building.

The video, released by a self-styled activist identified as Henry Blessing, sparked outrage on social media, alleging that the Senator has done nothing for Idanre since assuming office.

But in a statement released by his media team, Adegbonmire labeled the accusations as “baseless propaganda orchestrated by political jobbers and misinformation merchants.

“Let’s be clear—I’m not a contractor, I’m a lawmaker,” the Senator’s office stated. “My mandate is to legislate, provide oversight, and attract federal presence, not to do the work of the executive arms of government.”

The Senator’s camp described Henry Blessing as a “serial blackmailer and hired smear agent” with a known history of attempting to extort public figures under the guise of activism. They referenced a similar campaign against Hon. Princess Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu in 2023, allegedly carried out by the same individual.

The statement didn’t just stop at denial—it laid out a comprehensive list of visible and verifiable projects facilitated by Senator Adegbonmire in Idanre.

“Anyone who says nothing has been done in Idanre is either deliberately blind to facts or desperate to deceive,” the statement read.

Senator Adegbonmire reaffirmed that every local government in Ondo Central, including Idanre, is included in his development agenda.

He acknowledged that some project delays may occur due to administrative processes, but insisted the commitment to equity and progress remains intact.

The statement ended with a clear message to critics:

“Nigeria needs serious minds focused on nation-building, not clowns recycling lies online. If you want to be a contractor, join the executive arm. But don’t confuse the people with ignorance paraded as activism.”
