• Death shocks university community; cause yet unknown
The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo State, has been thrown into deep mourning following the sudden death of its Registrar, Mr. Ezekiel Imoleayo Adeniran.
Adeniran, who assumed office as the institution’s third substantive Registrar on January 6, 2025, reportedly passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, July 17, under circumstances that remain unclear as at press time.
His death has stunned colleagues and students alike, especially given that he was seen actively carrying out his official duties just two days earlier, on Monday, July 14.
The Public Relations Officer of UNIMED, Mr. Isaac Oluyi, confirmed the tragic news in an official statement, describing the incident as “devastating and shocking.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family and the entire university community in this trying moment,” the statement read.
Mr. Adeniran’s unexpected death has sparked whispers and raised concerns across the university community, with many wondering what could have led to the untimely demise of the seemingly healthy administrator.
