…Says Monarch’s Leadership is a Model for Politicians
As the Deji of Akure Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi (Odundun II), marked the 10th anniversary of his coronation, a 2027 senatorial hopeful, Otunba Adeniran Oyebade, has joined well-wishers across Ondo State in celebrating what he described as “a decade of impactful and people-centred monarchy.”
In a congratulatory message issued by his media team, Oyebade praised the monarch for “ten remarkable years of peace, cultural preservation, and grassroots development,” noting that the Oba has played a crucial role in preserving Akure’s heritage while driving progress.
“Ten years ago, the revered throne of Akure welcomed not just a monarch, but a visionary leader, a custodian of tradition, and a beacon of peace,” Oyebade stated.
Highlighting the monarch’s commitment to unity, youth empowerment, and infrastructural development, the senatorial aspirant described Oba Aladelusi’s reign as “a model of service that those in politics should emulate.”
The tribute also carried a personal note as Oyebade recounted his ancestral link to Akure through his grandmother, Princess Mobolaji Alate Ileke of the Obominu family of Isolo, whose lineage later migrated to Oba-Ile.
“As one with royal Akure blood running through my veins, I share in the pride and joy this anniversary brings. Your reign has become a reference point for inclusive leadership that honours both tradition and the future,” he said.
Oyebade, who is contesting to represent Ondo Central Senatorial District in 2027, expressed hope that the next decade of the monarch’s reign would bring even greater prosperity, peace, and honour to Akureland and beyond.
He concluded with the traditional prayer: “Igba odun, odun kan ni o!”
