A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Jasper Adeleye, has advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2024 Ondo State governorship election, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, to stop pursuing a futile legal battle and instead align with the ruling party.
Adeleye, in a statement issued on Friday, urged Ajayi to take a cue from his former running mate, Hon. Festus Akingbaso (Fessywest), who recently joined the APC.
He described Akingbaso’s defection as a “wise and timely move,” encouraging Ajayi to follow suit and support the progressive agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
“Agboola Ajayi should know by now that APC is the dominant force in Ondo State. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa won the election convincingly. There is no need wasting time and resources chasing shadows at the Supreme Court,” Adeleye said.
The APC stalwart emphasized that the party remains open to accommodating like-minded individuals ready to contribute to national development.
Akingbaso was formally received into the APC on Thursday, July 31, 2025, by the Ondo State Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelani.
