Traffic Lights Useless in Ekiti – FRSC Laments bad roads, Reckless Driving

In a renewed push for safer roads across Ekiti State, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has raised alarm over recurring traffic violations, failed road sections, and the menace of indiscriminate truck parking across the state.

The Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ekiti, Corps Commander Sanya Adeoye, made the observations during a courtesy visit to the Ekiti State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Kolawole Kehinde Ajobiewe.

The meeting aimed to deepen collaboration between the Corps and the Ministry of Transportation on road safety and traffic management.

Adeoye specifically noted the frequent disregard for traffic lights and the growing hazard posed by articulated vehicles parked haphazardly, which he said are contributing to road crashes and congestion.

Reacting to the concerns, Ajobiewe commended the FRSC’s efforts and pledged stronger support for enforcement and infrastructural response.

The meeting also highlighted the need for swift government action to rehabilitate dilapidated portions of the roads that have become hotspots for accidents.
