The Ondo State Government has dismissed reports alleging structural damage at the ongoing construction site of the new Judiciary Complex in Akure.
During an inspection tour on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Abiola Olawoye, said the rumours were “entirely false” and aimed at misinforming the public.
“We have moved round all 10 buildings in this project — including the ceremonial court, modular courts A to G, the utility building, and the registry building — and there is no structural failure. The workers are doing perfect work,” Olawoye stated.
He explained that the project had undergone rigorous soil testing, reinforcement checks, and continuous quality control measures. Tests such as cube, integrity, and balsamatic strength assessments had been conducted at every stage, all confirming the structural soundness of the buildings.
According to the commissioner, construction was already between 45 and 50 percent complete, with all stages meeting approved quality standards.
“By God’s grace, very soon this project will be completed. The contractor, in collaboration with consultants and the ministry, is ensuring that every stage meets the best standards,” Olawoye said.
Flagged off by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in December 2024, the Judiciary Complex will comprise 10 major buildings designed to boost judicial operations in Ondo State.
