A Nigerian Catholic priest, Emmanuel Ehioma, has urged people who repeatedly watched the viral video of Ibom Air passenger, Comfort Emmanson, being dragged off an aircraft with her shirt ripped, to seek confession.
In a Facebook post, Ehioma said while the first viewing might be innocent, rewatching the clip after knowing its nude content crosses into sinful territory.
“The second, third, fourth and other times you went back to watch that video were because of your hunger to see her nude and feel good about it, just like you would with pornography,” he wrote.
“It is regrettable to see husbands, fathers, wives, and mothers describing a lady’s breasts. Kindly meet your priest and confess to the Lord.”
The cleric said those who would confess for watching pornographic content should do the same in this case, stressing that lust, not curiosity, drives repeated viewing.
His post sparked mixed reactions online. Some questioned his stance, while others poked fun at the call for confession.
One commenter quipped:
“Na all of us go go for confession be that. The confession line this week go long pass Holy Week own.”
Another wrote:
“Her breast is not the only watermelon on the internet; there are plenty in different shapes and sizes. Please move on, Father.”
