Ahead of 2027 Elections, the race for the Ondo State House of Assembly took a dramatic turn as a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Wale Adefila, stormed the APC Secretariat in Igbara-Oke, headquarters of Ifedore Local Government, to declare his intention to run for the Assembly.
Adefila, a native of Ilara-Mokin, told cheering supporters that his ambition was born out of an unstoppable desire to serve and a burning passion to lift his people out of neglect.
“The desire to serve is an inborn tendency. At this age, I see it as an opportunity to offer myself simply because I care about the welfare of my people at the federal and state levels. I believe I have the capacity, the interest, and the dedication to give absolute representation that will transform Ifedore,” he thundered.
Rejecting the style of leaders who disconnect from their roots, Adefila said his bond with the grassroots was unshakable.
“I live in the midst of the people. Anytime I come home, I don’t lodge in hotels — never! I stay with my people in Ilara, I eat with them, I listen to their plight, I hear their cries, and I know their yearnings. That is why I have built myself to offer excellent and incorruptible leadership,” he declared, drawing loud applause.
He vowed to champion development and confront issues of infrastructure, welfare, and accountability head-on if given the mandate.
“I will discharge absolute transparency and make sure government feels the pulse of the ordinary people. My representation will make the black race proud,” he added.
Ifedore APC Chairman, Tunde Fawoyi, hailed Adefila’s declaration as timely and assured him of the party’s full backing.
“He is a man of the people, and his record of service speaks for itself. We will stand solidly behind his ambition,” Fawoyi affirmed.
