The Managing Director of the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORBDA), Dr. Femi Adekanmbi, has congratulated Bukola Kuti on her elevation to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, describing the promotion as “a reward for competence, resilience, and merit.”
Adekanmbi, in a statement, said Kuti’s promotion was not a product of favoritism but a reflection of her exceptional record of service in the Nigeria Police Force.
“Any attempts to shroud this milestone in controversy are baseless and a futile distraction from her undeniable achievements,” he declared.
The Owo-born police officer began her career 14 years ago as the only female from Ondo State in her Police Academy cohort.
Since then, she has consistently distinguished herself in sensitive roles requiring the highest levels of trust and discipline.
Kuti made history as the first female PSO 3 to an Inspector General of Police and later served for eight years as Aide-de-Camp to Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, wife of Nigeria’s former Vice President.
According to Adekanmbi, these roles showcased her professionalism, loyalty, and capacity to handle complex responsibilities with grace.
Beyond policing, Kuti also boasts strong academic credentials. She holds a Diploma in Criminology, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology—where she emerged best student—and a Master’s degree in International Relations.
“This rare blend of practical expertise and academic excellence sets her apart as a well-rounded officer whose contributions extend beyond operational duties,” Adekanmbi said.
He stressed that her rise through the ranks has been marked by quiet resolve, integrity, and hard work, without scandal or controversy.
“As a proud daughter of Owo Kingdom and Ondo State, her achievement should inspire young women aspiring to serve their nation with distinction. Her promotion is not a gift but a hard-earned recognition of her contributions to national security and public service,” he added.
Adekanmbi urged Nigerians, especially the people of Owo Kingdom, to celebrate Kuti’s success as a shining example of dedication and excellence in public service.
“We stand firmly behind Assistant Commissioner Bukola Kuti, confident that she will continue to serve Nigeria with brilliance and integrity, carrying the pride of Owo Kingdom with her,” he concluded.
