The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has declared that with the Supreme Court’s verdict finally laying to rest all litigations over the November 2024 Governorship Election, his administration can now focus fully on governance and development.
Speaking after the apex court affirmed his election victory, Aiyedatiwa admitted that the series of legal battles had been a major distraction since his swearing-in, but assured the people of Ondo State that “those days are over.”
He dedicated the victory to Almighty God and expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his fatherly support, to the judiciary for upholding democracy, and to his legal team for their steadfast professionalism.
The Governor also thanked the APC leadership, members across the state, and the people of Ondo for their resilience throughout the legal tussle.
Governor Aiyedatiwa commended opposition candidates, particularly the PDP’s Chief Alfred Agboola Ajayi, for their sportsmanship, stressing that the time has come for all political stakeholders to join hands in building a greater Ondo State.
“The era of distractions is gone. The focus is now on delivering on the OUR EASE Agenda, which is already showing results in critical sectors. The coming months will bring accelerated development, purposeful leadership, and transformational projects that will lift our state to new heights,” he assured.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Hon. Idowu Ajanaku, the government reiterated that with the court distractions now behind, governance will be pursued with renewed vigor to meet the expectations of the people.
