To bolster security and safeguard the lives of students and residents of Akungba-Akoko and its environs, the Honourable Member representing Akoko South-East and South-West Federal Constituency, Asiwaju (Dr.) Adegboyega Adefarati, has donated a brand-new Toyota Hilux patrol vehicle to the Akungba Police Division.
Adefarati said he was moved by the recent wave of criminal attacks reported in the community, which hosts Adekunle Ajasin University. Rather than sending mere condolences, he explained that the best way to respond was to provide practical support to security agencies.
The lawmaker, therefore, equipped the police with the patrol vehicle to boost their operations, improve response time, and strengthen law enforcement capacity in the area.
“This donation will enable the police to effectively patrol, combat crime, and restore public confidence,” Adefarati stated.
The gesture is expected to significantly improve safety in Akungba, particularly for students and business owners who have expressed concerns over rising insecurity.
Community members and stakeholders have commended the initiative, describing it as a timely and proactive step towards restoring peace and stability in the town.
