The Palace of the Alayede of Ayede Ogbese has paid glowing tribute to the late monarch, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Raphael Ajibola Olaleye Oluyede (Ise Oluwa II), whose posthumous birthday was marked on Tuesday, October 22, 2025.

Oba Oluyede, who reigned as the Alayede of Ayede Ogbese until his passing on December 29, 2023, was remembered as a man of peace, wisdom, and deep faith whose reign ushered in unity and development across the community.

In an official statement signed by HRM Princess Dr. Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell, the Regent of Ayede Ogbese, the palace described the late monarch as “a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and extraordinary king whose reign and character continue to light our path.”

“Nearly two years since his transition, Kabiyesi’s voice, laughter, and counsel remain alive in our hearts,” the statement read. “His Majesty led with calm strength, fairness, and uncommon wisdom. Under his reign, Ayede Ogbese experienced unprecedented progress, peace, and unity — values that continue to define our people.”

Beyond the throne, Oba Oluyede was celebrated as a brilliant attorney, faithful pastor, visionary entrepreneur, and trailblazer whose life exemplified integrity and excellence. Those who worked with him spoke of his sharp intellect and sense of justice, while worshippers remembered his humility and unwavering faith.

He was also remembered as a devoted family man who shared a 42-year marriage with HRM Princess Olufunmilayo Ajibola-Oluyede, and was father to Prince Adetunmbi Ajibola-Oluyede and Princess (Dr.) Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell, and grandfather to Eden Olufunmilayo, Abigail IyanuOluwa, and Immanuel Oluwademiladeola.

“As we celebrate him on this special day,” the statement continued, “we choose gratitude over grief — thanking God for a life that touched so many and for a legacy that continues to inspire.”

The Regent concluded the statement with prayers:
“May Kabiyesi’s gentle soul continue to rest in perfect peace, in the loving embrace of his Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, till we meet again. May his memory remain a guiding light for the people of Ayede Ogbese, Ondo State, Nigeria, and beyond.”
