The Ondo North Progressive Like Minds for Good Governance has declared its support for the leadership of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun Corps, while faulting a dismissed officer, Julius Ekujuni, for allegedly making false and defamatory remarks against the Corps Commander.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the group described Ekujuni’s recent actions and comments as reckless, malicious, and capable of undermining public trust in the state’s security architecture. It urged the public to disregard such comments, which it said were aimed at causing disunity and mistrust.
The group commended the Amotekun Commander for his professionalism, discipline, and commitment to the protection of lives and property across Ondo State, in line with the vision of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration.
According to the statement, Ekujuni’s dismissal from the Corps followed acts of indiscipline, insubordination, and conduct unbecoming of a security operative, which violated the ethics and operational standards of the agency.
The group further cautioned against attempts by disgruntled elements to tarnish the image of Amotekun or its leadership, stressing that such behaviour was inimical to the peace and progress of the state.
It called on residents, particularly in the Ondo North Senatorial District, to remain supportive of the Commander and other officers of the Amotekun Corps as they continue their patriotic service to ensure safety and stability across the state.
Reaffirming its unwavering support for the Ondo State Government, the group reiterated its commitment to the promotion of peace, unity, and good governance.
