AAUA Fixes Resumption Date, Tightens Campus Security

Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), has announced that academic activities for the 2025/2026 session will commence on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

A statement signed by the Registrar, Mr. Olugbenga Arajulu, directed all fresh and returning students to resume accordingly, with registration and lectures following a phased schedule.

According to the statement, online screening and registration for fresh students as well as registration for returning students will take place between November 9 and 15, while physical resumption and faculty-based course exposition are scheduled for November 16–22. Lectures are expected to begin on November 23, 2025.

Mr. Arajulu added that the first semester will run for 19 weeks — comprising two weeks for resumption and registration, twelve weeks for lectures, one week for revision, and four weeks for examinations.

He advised students to adhere strictly to the approved calendar and ensure prompt payment of fees to facilitate seamless participation in academic activities.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olugbenga E. Ige, has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to the safety of students and staff.

During an inspection tour of the campus on October 29, 2025, the VC assured that the management, in collaboration with security agencies, had intensified efforts to secure the university environment.

“We have requested the immediate deployment of additional security personnel, including police officers and other operatives, to strengthen patrols on and around the campus,” Prof. Ige said.
