Tinubu’s Reforms Already Paying Off — Ondo Elders

The Ondo Elders’ Movement for Tinubu 2027 has declared total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ongoing economic and structural reforms, describing them as the foundation for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.

Speaking during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting with trade union leaders in Akure on Tuesday, the group’s Coordinator, Otunba Agboola Kelly, said the reforms, though initially painful, are already yielding tangible results across key sectors.

“From the removal of fuel subsidies to the unification of exchange rates and the bold push for local refining, these measures are dismantling decades of systemic rot,” Otunba Kelly stated.

“Nigerians are beginning to see the light: reduced petrol queues, gradual naira stabilization, and a surge in investor confidence. The reforms are not punishment — they are prescription for recovery.”

He cited early milestones such as the operational take-off of the Dangote Refinery, increased foreign exchange inflows through diaspora remittances, and the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Initiative, which has helped cut transport costs for commercial drivers nationwide.

Otunba Kelly urged labour unions and other stakeholders to work in partnership with the federal government rather than resist, stressing that the short-term hardships are minor compared to the long-term gains of self-sufficiency in fuel, food, and power.

He also commended the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo (BTO), for his steadfast commitment to strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State.

“Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s interventions in the lives of party members have revived morale and unity within the party’s ranks,” Kelly noted.

Calling for patience and collective perseverance, he added:

“These reforms are the bridge to a stronger, more equitable Nigeria. With collective resolve, the fruits of today’s sacrifices will define our nation’s greatness tomorrow.”
