Residents of Odanikin, Ayalodi, and Ajimokun in Isokan Community, Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State, have hailed the Senator representing Ondo Central, Adeniyi Adegbonmire (SAN), as a true man of the people for coming to their aid during a period of darkness.

Speaking during the community’s monthly meeting, the Chairman, Mr. Temitope Olosu, said the Senator was the only public official who responded when vandals destroyed the community’s only transformer panel on August 27, 2025.

According to him, after several appeals to both the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) and other individuals yielded no result, the community turned to Senator Adegbonmire—who had earlier promised assistance.

“I initially thought it was one of those political promises, but to our surprise, the Senator fulfilled his word. His intervention made it possible to restore electricity to our community,” Olosu said.

He added that the community remains deeply grateful, describing the senator’s support as a gesture that “will forever be remembered in the history of Isokan.”

Olosu also appealed to Adegbonmire to assist with the installation of solar-powered streetlights to enhance security and improve living conditions in the area.

In his remarks, the immediate past Chairman of the community, Mr. Clement Fapohunda, described Adegbonmire as “a man of integrity and action,” noting that no politician had ever come to the community’s aid before now.

“He is truly a man of his words and a man of the people. The community will not forget this kindness and will reciprocate whenever the need arises,” Fapohunda said.
