Ondo State made another bold step in its drive to reposition technical and vocational education on Monday as the newly appointed Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical and Vocational Education, Ogbeni Tayo Oluyi, officially assumed duty.
Oluyi was received at the office of the Board for Adult, Technical and Vocational Education (BATVE) by the Administrative Secretary, Mrs. Adelayi Christie, who led him on a facility tour before convening a brief management meeting in his honour.
Speaking during the meeting, the staff and management of BATVE commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for what they described as a timely and strategic appointment aimed at reviving the state’s skills-development ecosystem.
They pledged their full cooperation as the state moves to realign technical and vocational training with modern industry demands.
In his remarks, Oluyi emphasized that the administration was committed to expanding access to quality technical and vocational education, equipping youths with 21st-century skills, and strengthening the state’s productivity base in line with the Governor’s OUR EASE Agenda.
He assured that coordinated reforms and innovative programmes would be pursued to restore public confidence in the sector.
“Together, we will reposition this critical sector—reviving skills and rebuilding futures for Ondo State,” he said.
