Over 3,000 residents of Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State have benefitted from a multi-million naira empowerment programme organised by Lagos-based real estate developer and philanthropist, Mr Olabode Omoyele.
The colourful ceremony, held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at the residence of Pastor Femi Agagu in Iju-Odo community, witnessed the distribution of empowerment materials and cash support valued at over N100 million to widows, youths, farmers and other vulnerable groups across the local government.
Items distributed included 1,000 bags of 10kg rice and N10,000 cash each to 1,000 widows, 1,000 spraying pumps and 1,000 bottles of herbicides to farmers, while over 1,000 cutlasses were also shared. In addition, 200 youths, 50 men and 100 women received N50,000 each as financial support to boost their livelihoods.
Omoyele, who is the founder of the Olabode Humanitarian Foundation and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the initiative was borne out of his passion for community development and his desire to uplift the living standards of the people, especially the less privileged.
A major highlight of the event was the official launch of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Continuity Project in Ondo State, spearheaded by its Director-General, Pastor Femi Agagu, a former Commissioner for Education and former Chief of Staff to the late Governor Olusegun Agagu.
The programme recorded a massive turnout of APC leaders and stakeholders, including Princess Catherine Oladunni Odu, former Secretary to the Ondo State Government; Hon. Mayowa Akinfolarin, Member of the House of Representatives; Hon. Muyiwa Asagunla, Director-General of Asiwaju Mandate Group, Ondo State; Basorun Tony Meduoye; Hon. Nimbe Tawose; Hon. Afolabi Iwalewa, former member of the Ondo State House of Assembly; and Dr (Mrs) Morenike Alaka, former Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government Council, among others.
Speaking with journalists, Omoyele commended the Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for what he described as his outstanding performance and unwavering commitment to the re-election campaign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Ondo State.
He noted that the minister has continued to work assiduously through platforms such as the Asiwaju Mandate Group and the PBAT Continuity Project to ensure the sustainability of President Tinubu’s developmental strides beyond 2027.
According to him, the empowerment programme was also aimed at complementing the efforts of the minister and supporting the renewed hope agenda of the President.
“This initiative is driven by my commitment to making life better for our people, particularly the vulnerable. We must continue to support one another to build a stronger and more prosperous community,” Omoyele said.
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude and offered prayers for the philanthropist, describing the intervention as one of the most impactful community support programmes in recent times within the local government.
Observers noted that the initiative further reinforces Omoyele’s image as a committed humanitarian and advocate of grassroots development in Ondo State.
