Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has formally resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), citing the ongoing leadership crisis rocking the party at the national level.

In a resignation letter dated November 4, 2025, and addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Sagba Abogunde, Ward 2, Ede North Local Government, Adeleke stated that his decision takes immediate effect.

“I hereby resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party due to the current crisis within the party’s national leadership,” the governor wrote.

Adeleke expressed appreciation to the PDP for providing him the platform that led to his election first as a Senator representing Osun West and later as Governor of Osun State.

The letter was acknowledged and received by the Ward Chairman, Saka Kamorudeen Alamu, on the same day.

The governor later confirmed the development in an official communication, noting that he had formally notified the party structure at his ward level.

Adeleke’s resignation is expected to trigger significant political realignments within Osun State and the national political landscape, especially as speculation intensifies over his next political move.
