Ember Months: Ayede Ogbese Regent Warns — ‘No Money Is Worth Your Life’

by Roving

As the country enters the final stretch of the year, the Regent of Ayede Ogbese in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, Princess Dr. Olufunto Oluyede Campbell, has urged Nigerians — especially the people of her domain — to prioritise safety, security and calmness throughout the ember months.

In her December address, the Regent cautioned residents against rushing for money, overspeeding on the highways, and taking unnecessary risks that often lead to tragedies during the festive season.

“In this last ember month, may the Lord shield you from harm,” she prayed. “But as we ask for divine protection, we must also act wisely. Drive safely, avoid night movements, and refuse the pressure to chase quick money. No amount of money is worth a human life.”

Princess Oluyede noted that December typically records increased insecurity, road crashes, and desperation, urging her people to remain vigilant and cooperative with security agencies.

“Ayede Ogbese is blessed, and I pray continually for the peace of our land,” she said. “I urge all residents to be security-conscious, look out for one another, and report suspicious movements. Peace is everyone’s responsibility.”

The Regent also reminded motorists and commercial drivers travelling through Ayede Ogbese and beyond to maintain speed limits, service their vehicles, and resist the temptation to beat time at the expense of safety.

“Your goal should be to arrive alive,” she advised. “Let us move into December with wisdom, patience, and the fear of God.”

She concluded by praying for peace, progress, and divine preservation for the people of Ayede Ogbese, Ondo State, and Nigeria at large.
