Nigerian music star, Sola Allyson, has revealed that although she is still legally married, she and her husband now live in separate homes.
Speaking on the Oyinmomo Podcast, Allyson disclosed that her marital journey has been emotionally difficult, admitting she has never enjoyed the kind of happiness many people associate with marriage.
“I must confess that I am married, but my husband and I decided to live apart; he in his house and I in mine,” she said.
“Marriage has been a big challenge. I hear people talk about joy in marriage, but I have never experienced it.”
The singer explained that despite years of effort, the union has “not been successful.”
Allyson also addressed a long-standing misconception about her music identity. While many assume she is a gospel artist, she clarified that she does not identify as one.
“I am not a gospel singer. My name is Sola Allyson,” she said.
“Jesus does not need promotion, so I do not have to call His name in every song.”
She added that her music is simply an expression of her spirituality and life experiences, not tied to any formal gospel label.
