The music industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of popular and sought-after highlife musician, Orlando West, a protégé of the late music legend Dr. Orlando Owoh.
The sad news was confirmed on Thursday through a telephone conversation between the lead anchor of Agbaletu, ace broadcaster Dele Adeyanju, and the Chief Executive Officer of Lakers Band, the group that provided Orlando West with a steady musical platform after he relocated to the southern part of the country.
According to the Lakers Band CEO, Orlando West died after a brief illness.
The late vocalist, who hailed from Owo in Ondo State, was widely admired for his powerful voice, stage charisma, and deep-rooted highlife influence reminiscent of his mentor, Dr. Orlando Owoh.
He is survived by his children.
