Abayomi Adefolalu, Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Photography, was on Tuesday honoured with the Media Aide of the Year 2025 award by the Ondo State Government in recognition of his outstanding performance, dedication and professional excellence.
Adefolalu received the award at the end-of-year appreciation event of the Governor’s Press Corps held at the Dome in Akure, the state capital.
Presenting the certificate, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, said Adefolalu distinguished himself through exceptional commitment, creativity, and discipline in documenting the activities of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration.
Adeniyan noted that Adefolalu’s quality of work had improved the visibility of Ondo State in national media.
“Since Abayomi Adefolalu became part of the media team of Mr Governor, many things that used to be difficult have become easy,” Adeniyan said.
“His photography has consistently projected government activities in a clear, timely and professional manner.
Because of his efficiency, the publication of official photographs in national newspapers has become seamless and more frequent. He is a dependable asset to the media team.”
Adeniyan described him as “a silent achiever whose work speaks loudly.”
Adefolalu Reacts: ‘This Award Motivates Me to Do More’
Responding after receiving the award, Adefolalu expressed gratitude to the Governor, the CPS, and the entire media team for the recognition.
“I am deeply honoured by this award,” he said.
“It means a lot to me because it acknowledges the effort behind the scenes. Photography for governance is not just about taking pictures; it is about preserving history, telling stories accurately, and projecting the image of the state with dignity.”
Adefolalu added that the recognition would inspire him to raise the bar higher.
“This motivates me to do even more. I remain committed to delivering quality work that reflects the vision and progress of Ondo State under Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. I dedicate this award to my colleagues who support me every day,” he said.
The event also highlighted the administration’s appreciation for media professionals working behind the scenes to enhance government communication.
