Ondo State Government has commenced a technical assessment of major dilapidated roads in the Northern Senatorial District following directives from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to identify and rehabilitate failed portions across the state.

The Commissioner for Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Ayorinde Olawoye, on Wednesday led a team of directors from the ministry on a preliminary evaluation tour of priority routes in the area.

The inspection covered the Imo–Arigidi Road and the Oba–Afo–Idoani corridor, where engineers assessed the level of deterioration and outlined the scope of work required for full rehabilitation.

Olawoye described the exercise as an essential first step to ensure that upcoming road interventions are properly planned and executed in line with modern engineering standards.

The team also inspected other strategic roads in Ifira Akoko, Oke Agbe, Supare, Ikare, Idoani and neighbouring communities.

The exercise reflects the Aiyedatiwa administration’s commitment to addressing infrastructure deficits and improving road connectivity to boost economic activities and ease transportation across Ondo State.
