The Regent of Ayede Ogbese in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, HRM Princess Dr. Olufunto Oluyede Campbell, has congratulated the Government and people of Ondo State on the occasion of the State’s 50th anniversary, describing the Golden Jubilee as a defining moment of reflection, gratitude and renewed commitment to progress.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Regent paid glowing tribute to the founding fathers and past leaders whose sacrifices and visionary leadership laid the foundation for the State’s development.

“Ondo State at 50 is not just a celebration of years, but a celebration of resilience, courage and purposeful leadership,” she said. “We honour the vision of our founding fathers and the successive administrations whose efforts have shaped the identity and progress of our dear State.”

Princess Oluyede specifically acknowledged the legacies of the late Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin, Chief Ayo Fasanmi, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, Basorun Seinde Arogbofa and other patriots whose contributions, she noted, remain deeply rooted in the political and moral consciousness of the State.

“Their ideals of integrity, equity and people-centred governance must continue to guide our journey as a State,” she stressed.

Commending Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for articulating a clear vision for the next 50 years, the Regent expressed confidence in the administration’s commitment to inclusive development, security and economic growth.

“The future of Ondo State lies in unity, peace and deliberate investment in human capital, infrastructure and security,” she noted. “I commend the Governor for prioritising stability and development, knowing that no society can thrive without peace.”

She used the occasion to pray for peace and prosperity in Ondo State, while urging citizens, particularly residents of Ayede Ogbese and Akure North, to remain law-abiding, security-conscious and supportive of government efforts.

“As we celebrate this Golden Jubilee, I pray for enduring peace across Ondo State,” the Regent said. “Let us all play our part by promoting harmony, vigilance and collective responsibility, so that the next fifty years will surpass the last.”

Princess Oluyede called on Ondo indigenes at home and in the diaspora to see the anniversary as a renewed call to service.

“Ondo State belongs to us all. Together, we must protect its heritage, support its growth and ensure that future generations inherit a State of opportunity, dignity and hope,” she concluded.
