A youth coalition in Ondo North Senatorial District has commended the Ondo State Government and federal representatives from the state for what it described as progressive leadership and visible developmental strides as Ondo State marks its 50th anniversary.
The commendation was made during a media parley addressed by the Vice President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) and President of the Ondo North Youth Alliance, Ojo Bright I. Eniafe, on Thursday while assessing the impact of the recently celebrated Ondo @ 50.
Eniafe congratulated the people and government of Ondo State on the golden jubilee, describing the anniversary as a significant milestone in the state’s development journey.
He praised Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for what he called focused and inclusive leadership.
The youth leader also highlighted the growing collaboration between the Ondo State Government and federal representatives from the state, including the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, and members of the National Assembly, noting that such synergy has translated into tangible benefits for residents.
Special commendation was given to Senator Olajide Ipinsagba, representing Ondo North Senatorial District, for what the group described as people-centred representation and impactful projects across the six local government areas of the district within his first two years in office.
According to the coalition, Senator Ipinsagba has sponsored and supported initiatives including the passage of a bill for the establishment of an ICT University in Ikare-Akoko, award of scholarships and bursaries to over 1,000 tertiary students, annual JAMB sponsorships, and facilitation of employment opportunities for indigenes of the district.
Other interventions credited to the senator include youth empowerment and skills acquisition programmes, agricultural support for farmers, business grants for young entrepreneurs, as well as digital and vocational training initiatives.
The group recalled that about a year ago it had appealed to the senator for increased engagement, progressive legislation, and development-oriented programmes to accelerate growth in the district.
“We are pleased to state, at the 50th anniversary of Ondo State, that our senator has not only risen to the challenge but has also earned widespread commendation based on his performance within just two years in office,” the group stated.
The coalition further cited medical outreach programmes, rural electrification projects, installation of transformers, provision of hospital equipment, and construction of civic centres in various communities as part of ongoing constituency interventions.
According to the group, these efforts reflect a commitment to human capital development, infrastructure renewal, and inclusive governance, adding that Ondo North is witnessing purposeful and visible leadership at the state’s golden jubilee.
The youth coalition called for sustained collaboration among state and federal leaders, urging stakeholders to consolidate ongoing development efforts for the continued growth of Ondo North and the state at large.
