Another aide to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has resigned from the administration, marking the third resignation within a few days and further drawing attention to developments within the Governor’s team.

Mr. Yinka Richards, who served as Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, formally tendered his resignation in a letter dated February 16, 2026.

The resignation takes effect from February 18, 2026.

In the letter addressed to Governor Aiyedatiwa, Richards expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve in the administration, describing it as a privilege to contribute to the state’s development and the execution of the government’s strategic objectives.

He stated that his decision followed careful reflection, noting his intention to focus on a national assignment and pursue the next phase of his political and professional career.

Richards’ resignation comes shortly after two senior media aides stepped down from their roles.

Pastor Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila resigned as Senior Special Assistant on Multimedia, while Mr. Olugbenga Abire quit his position as Special Assistant on Media. Both exits occurred within 48 hours.

While official reasons were not disclosed in the earlier resignations, sources had indicated that concerns relating to working conditions and funding were being discussed within the media team.

The state government has yet to issue a comprehensive statement regarding the wave of resignations.
