Ajongbolo to Ondo APC Members: Embrace Dialogue, Shun Violence ahead of 2027

A United States-based business consultant and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Oluwaseun Ajongbolo, has appealed for calm among party stakeholders in Ondo State following the violence that marred the recent ward congress.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Akoko-born politician urged leaders and members across various factions of the party to sheathe their swords and embrace genuine reconciliation in the interest of unity, stability and future electoral success.

Ajongbolo, who is an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Akoko South West/Akoko South East Federal Constituency, warned that prolonged infighting could weaken the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections and President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

According to him, political unrest within a ruling party sends negative signals not only to loyal members but also to potential investors closely monitoring developments in the state.

“As a ruling party in the state, political unrest not only undermines party progress, it also sends negative signals to investors and could affect economic opportunities,” he stated.

While condemning the violence reportedly recorded at the party secretariat in Akure and during the ward congress in Idanre, Ajongbolo called for swift and decisive action against those responsible.

He specifically urged security agencies, particularly the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, to identify and prosecute individuals involved in acts capable of threatening peace and undermining internal democracy within the party.

The APC chieftain emphasised that unity, discipline and decisive leadership remain critical if the party is to consolidate its hold on Ondo State and present a formidable front in 2027.

He further appealed to party faithful to prioritise collective interest over personal ambition, stressing that dialogue and a sincere commitment to peace remain the only sustainable path to lasting stability within the party.
