The Senior Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Agribusiness, Chief Rotimi Akinsola, has paid a working visit to JB Farms Limited in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area, ahead of the commissioning of its newly completed oil palm processing mill.
JB Farms, reputed to operate the largest agricultural plantation in the state, is set to officially inaugurate the mill in the coming weeks.
The facility is expected to significantly boost oil palm processing capacity and strengthen the state’s agribusiness value chain.
During a tour of the facility, Akinsola expressed satisfaction with the level of investment in modern industrial machinery and equipment installed for optimal production.
He noted that the visit was part of the state government’s efforts to support major agricultural investments ahead of the commissioning.
According to him, once operational, the mill will create employment opportunities, enhance local production, and contribute to the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR).
Akinsola reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration to the development of agribusiness under the government’s “OUR EASE” agenda, which prioritises food sufficiency, job creation, and economic growth.
“This administration will continue to provide an enabling environment for agriculture to thrive and ensure that investors are adequately protected at all times,” he said.
He also assured the management of JB Farms of the government’s continued support, particularly in the areas of security and infrastructure, while urging other investors to explore the numerous opportunities available in Ondo State’s agricultural sector.
Recall that during an earlier visit to the farm last year, Governor Aiyedatiwa commended the scale of JB Farms’ operations, describing its extensive infrastructure and employment capacity as a positive contribution to the state’s economic development.
Beyond cultivation, JB Farms has invested in road construction within its plantation and has completed a modern processing mill scheduled for commissioning in the coming weeks.
Akinsola further commended the Chief Executive Officer of JB Farms Limited, Mr Ajibola Adebutu, for choosing Ore, Ondo State, as the location for the significant agricultural investment.
