Tragedy struck as a yet-to-be-named young man has allegedly killed his mother, Justina Amunde and hid her body in a deep well in Cross River State.
The tragic incident happened on Sunday 29th December 2024 at Chairman Road, Ohong Community in Obudu Local Government Area of the state.
The reason why the suspect perpetrated the evil act has not been ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
In a video shared on Facebook by Okoi Promise, community members are seen pulling the lifeless body of the woman out from the well.
“The young boy grabbed his mom when she returned from church and tied her up.
He was assisted by his friend to throw his mom into a well. He threatened the house help and told her if she said anything he would kill her,” a community member narrated.
“He took her (housemaid) on a bike, maybe to kill her or something, we don’t know but was intercepted by a vigilante. The girl narrated the story.”
The suspect was said to have escaped.
