~ Says his selfless undertakings won’t be forgotten
Reacting to the death of the leader of the Pan Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, who died on the 14th of February, 2025, at the age of 96, President on the Oodua Youth Coalition in a statement he personally signed expressed sobriety stating that Baba’s demise is a great loss to Nigeria, Yorubaland, and the youth population under his mentorship.
The statement reads; “it’s with an unbridled sobriety and submission to the will of God that we received the news of the demise of our Father, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, who was called to glory on the 14th of February, 2025, at the age of 96.”
”Chief Adebanjo’s long standing history of selflessness, loyalty, and sense of patriotism since his days with Chief Obafemi Awolowo, and as leader of Afenifere underscores his passion for a better Nigeria that works for all, and put him in the rank of the greats who dedicated their life to service.”
“Baba was a constant support to our course as an organisation, he offered support, valuable advise, and mentorship to our members, he always emphasized the need for us to stay on course of the mandate of the organisation and not be sway by personal aggrandizement. It’s an understatement that he will be sorely missed.”
“While we mourn with his immediate family, Nigeria, and Yorubaland, we find solace in the impactful life he lived.”
