APC Chieftain, Dauda, hails Senate for Passing Federal Varsity of ICT Bill in Ikare-Akoko

Ganny Oluwadare Dauda, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and state chairmanship aspirant has commended the Senate for passing the bill to establish the Federal University of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) in Ikare Akoko, Ondo State.

Speaking on the development, Hon. Dauda congratulated the people of Ikare Akoko and the entire Akoko land, describing the Senate’s action as “a monumental step forward for our community.”

“This is a monumental achievement that will open up new opportunities for the youth of Akoko land and Ondo State as a whole,” Dauda stated. “The establishment of this university will not only provide access to quality education but also equip our youth with the skills needed to compete in the global economy.”

He expressed deep appreciation to the bill’s sponsor, Senator Olajide Emmanuel Ipinsagba, whom he described as “a silent achiever whose tireless efforts have now borne fruit.”

According to Dauda, “Senator Ipinsagba has demonstrated true leadership and commitment to the advancement of our people. His role in making this dream a reality cannot be overstated.”

Highlighting the university’s potential impact, Dauda noted that the institution will bring several long-term benefits to the region. “We’re talking about enhanced access to quality ICT education, increased economic activity, the empowerment of our young people with 21st-century skills, and a boost to the local economy,” he said.

Dauda also seized the opportunity to commend the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, saying: “This remarkable achievement happened during his tenure, and it’s only right we recognize the enabling environment his leadership has provided. We commend Governor Aiyedatiwa for his continued support for developmental initiatives in Ondo State.”

Looking ahead, Dauda expressed optimism about the future of the project. “We are hopeful and confident that with the President’s assent, this university will soon become a reality—a beacon of hope and progress for generations to come.”

In closing, he remarked, “I once again congratulate Senator Ipinsagba on this significant achievement and join the people of Ikare Akoko and Akoko land in celebrating this historic milestone.”
