Ondo state Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has assured that he will perform beyond the expectations of ‘doubting Thomases’ who do not believe in his ability to turn things around in the state.
Aiyedatiwa stated this over the weekend while addressing some Newsmen at a forum in Akure the state capital.
Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Strategic Communication, Allen Sowore, Aiyedatiwa said he would not be derailed from his passion and determination towards the development of the state.
“The governor would perform beyond the expectations of majority of the doubting Thomas,” he said.
Speaking on his efforts to make Ondo State safer, Aiyedatiwa said he had increased the running grants of the State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun Corps for it to discharge its mandate more effectively.
He said, “Amotekun officers used to collect casual salary which is about N30,000, but now they are now collecting standard salary just to ensure that they (Amotekun Corps) are encouraged.
“Even the running grants of Amotekun in this year’s budget has been increased by sixty percent. The governor is not taking the issue of insecurity lightly.
“Similarly, the governor is giving the local government administration free hand to operate and implement projects.
“The local governments in Ondo state have been given approval for the implementation of projects.
“The first approval is N50,000,000 and the governor has given them Six weeks to complete them and when they do, they will come back for another projects for approval.”
“So any moment from now, you will see projects erupting in our local government Areas in the state.”
