Afenifere Youth Council President, Prince Eniola Ojajuni has again revealed that four Traditional Rulers in Ondo state are conniving with Kidnappers as cases of abduction are increasing in the state.

Ojajuni was said to have revealed this in a screenshot of a chat posted by a Ondo based lawyer, Tolu Babaleye on his official Facebook page.

Though he did not mention the names of the traditional rulers, Ojajuni said the four Traditional Rulers are from the Northern senatorial district of Ondo state which is dominated by the Akoko people.

Ojajuni’s abduction on February 17, 2025, while travelling from Ondo State to Abuja, sparked widespread outrage and calls for his release.

As the days passed, the kidnappers released pictures and videos of Ojajuni, showing him in distress and pleading for Nigerians to raise an N100m ransom to save his life.

He was however released after spending 12 days in captivity.

In the chat posted by Babaleye as obtained by Roving Reporters, Ojajuni said, “4 Obas are working with the Fulani herdsmen from Ondo state north because we don’t want to talk because the governor is from Ilaje local government… If anyone insults Ilaje, I will come out. ”

Corroborating his claims, Ojajuni also posted a video on Monday questioning the state government and security agencies for failing to invite him for debrief over his ordeal in the hands of his abductors who are mostly fulani herdsmen.

He however said, “I will be waiting for the update on the issue when Ondo state police invite me for an investigation.”

Ondo Police however said it would formally react on the matter soon.

Babaleye’s Reactions

ON ALLEGATION THAT 4 ONDO NORTH OBAS ARE WORKING IN COLLABORATION WITH KIDNAPPERS BY Prince Eniola Ojajuni!

Ojajuni’s kidnap was special with live video coverage and updates as the show was going on at that time and is different from any other abduction in recent times.

He must have engaged very well with the kidnappers to the extent that names of 4 Obas were mentioned to him as collaborators with the kidnappers.

He has to help us in Ondo North with more information in a matter of days as an end must be found to that scourge. We need to know those 4 Obas immediately!

Olukare of Ikare Akoko Reacts to Allegations

URGENT CALL TO ACTION: Fish out the Four Monarchs Aiding Kidnāppērs in Akoko Land

Following the harrowing kidnapping experience of Prince Eniola Ojajuni, National President of Afenifere National Youth Council (ANYC) and former Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), at the hands of Fulani herdsmen in Akunnu Akoko, Ondo State, serious allegations have been made regarding the involvement of four Obas in Akoko land in facilitating kidnāppings.

As the media aides to the Kabiyesi Olukare of Ikare Akoko, Oba Akadri Saliu Momoh (IV), CON, GFR, we join concerned Nigerians in urging the Nigeria Police Force Ondo State Division to collaborate with Prince Joseph Eniola Ojajuni to uncover the truth behind these allegations.

The Ikare community, having provided medical treatment to Prince Ojajuni after his release, stands in solidarity with him and demands justice.

Our people deserve all the peace and reassurance a great nation as our can afford her citizenry. But if Akoko land must be a safe haven, the time is now for everyone of us to join forces together to flash out the bad eggs on our midst once and for all.

If established, we call on the authorities to take immediate action to identify and prosecute the four monarchs allegedly involved in aiding kidnāppērs. No one should be above the law.

Prince Ojajuni’s experience and information while in ābdūctiøn with eight (8) others could be crucial in combating kidnāpping in our region.

In light of this, we urge all well-meaning Nigerians to support the security agencies in this effort. Together, we can bring an end to the scourge of kidnapping in southwest Nigeria, especially in Akoko land, and ensure justice is served.

Singed:

Prince S.A. Momoh,
Directorate of Media and Public Affairs to the Olukare of Ikare Kingdom.
