Members of the Nigerian Legion have arrested a suspected burglar for breaking the fence of government Cenotaph and removing its iron panels in Akure, the Ondo state Capital.
The suspect was said to be terrorising the area by burgling government and private property and stealing items in the offices around.
It was gathered that the suspect had covered his tracks with the bush around the fence while perpetrating his nefarious act.
The members of the Nigerian Legion were said to have teamed up on Sunday after suspecting that the suspect had been breaking the fence again to remove other iron panels.
The suspect who was also caught with network underground cables had already broken the fence and removed the iron before luck ran against him.
One of the legion members who spoke under the condition of anonymity said the suspects had caused serious damage to government property around Adegbemile cultural center Akure.
He said they have been trailing the suspected burglars who had pulled down almost half of the Cenotaph Fence and removed the iron panels under the pretence of defecating inside nearby bushes.
The legion member however said the suspect would be handed over to the authority.
