Democracy Day: Falade Salutes Nigeria’s Democratic Heroes, Calls for Renewed Commitment

As Nigeria marks Democracy Day, Honourable Tomisin Edu Falade, CEO of the T.E.F Foundation and proud daughter of Akure Kingdom, has extended heartfelt greetings and appreciation to the people of Akure North and South Federal Constituency, Ondo State, and Nigerians across the country.

In her Democracy Day message, Hon. Falade emphasized the deep significance of June 12, describing it as more than a date — a symbol of Nigeria’s enduring quest for freedom, justice, and the power of the people’s voice.

June 12 is a living testament to the resilience of our democracy. It honours the courage of those who fought for our right to choose, for equity and justice. It is a reminder of how far we’ve come and how far we must still go,” she stated.

The 2025 celebration marks 26 years of uninterrupted democratic rule since Nigeria’s return to civilian governance in 1999 — a milestone Hon. Falade believes should inspire both reflection and renewed commitment.

“As we celebrate this journey, we must continue to participate actively in our democratic process, speak truth to power, and hold our leaders accountable for the growth and development we seek,” she urged.
