Aiyedatiwa sends Relief To Ilaje Rainstorm Victims

ILAJE, ONDO STATE – In a significant show of compassion and swift emergency response, the Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response, Hon. Wellington  Adebawo, on Wednesday, delivered vital relief materials to victims of a recent rainstorm disaster in Ilaje Local Government Area.

The palliatives — which included roofing sheets, mattresses, nails, and other essential items — were sent by the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as part of efforts to bring succor to displaced and affected residents.

The materials were officially received by the Chairman of Ilaje Local Government, Hon. Maurice Oripenaye, in the company of other council executives.

Communities such as Peteinu, Gbabijo, Oroyomi, and Magbehinwa benefitted from the distribution. Speaking during the handover, Hon. Adebawo reiterated the Governor’s unwavering commitment to responding swiftly to disasters and alleviating the suffering of the people.

He acknowledged the crucial role played by the Ondo State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), under the leadership of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami.

He also extended appreciation to the Deputy Governor, the Permanent Secretary, Office of the Deputy Governor, Mr. Idowu Ojo, Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Kola Falohun, and SEMA’s Director of Finance and Administration, Mr. Orunkan, for their coordinated efforts.

Expressing his gratitude, Hon. Oripenaye praised Governor Aiyedatiwa for the timely intervention and lauded Hon. Adebawo’s dedication to actualizing the Governor’s “Our Ease Agenda,” which prioritizes the welfare of all citizens.

Also present was the Vice Chairman of Ilaje Local Government, Hon. (Mrs) Ranti Esejuwon, who commended the administration’s consistency in putting people first. She described the relief gesture as a “lifeline for affected families.”

Representatives of the impacted communities, including Prince Ayantuga Ajurojo, Chief Adebowale Bamigbose (Gbabijo), Hon. Ademuwagun Festus (Magbehinwa), and Chief Ekujumi Ala (Oroyomi), echoed similar sentiments, thanking the Governor and Hon. Adebawo for their unwavering support.

The delivery event was also graced by the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Prince Segun Odolo, and other local stakeholders.

Governor Aiyedatiwa’s gesture once again reaffirms his administration’s focus on responsive governance and grassroots engagement.
