AKURE – A peaceful protest organised by some civil society organizations in Akure, Ondo State capital, has been disrupted by hoodlums.
The protest, which commenced at Cathedral area of Akure, was peaceful until some hoodlums attacked the protesters.
Speaking with Daily Independent, one of the activists and a human rights lawyer, Tope Temokun Esq, told Daily Independent that the hoodlums were allegedly suspected to be working for the state government.
He disclosed that the organisers had informed the police ahead of the protest.
Temokun said they were marching to the state Commissioner of Police,’s office to lodge their complaint and why they were still attached despite informing the police about the protest.
