In a bold move signalling renewed vigour in the fight against crime, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police for Ondo State, CP Adebowale Lawal, has announced the rollout of strategic security initiatives targeted at safeguarding the state’s hinterlands and waterways.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 17, AIG Ajani Omolabi on Tuesday, CP Lawal revealed that comprehensive security strategies are already being implemented to consolidate the achievements of his predecessor.
He assured the AIG of his full cooperation and steadfast commitment to maintaining law and order across the state.
CP Lawal emphasised that his administration is aligned with the vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, and that his approach will focus on proactive policing, community engagement, and strategic intelligence deployment.
“We are determined to build on existing successes and initiate fresh strategies tailored to the peculiar security needs of both rural and riverine communities in Ondo State,” he stated.
The visit underscores a renewed emphasis on intra-agency collaboration, with both the Commissioner and AIG reaffirming their joint resolve to enhance public safety and promote peace across the region.
