In a powerful testament to resilience and lifelong learning, Olusegun Odidi, Esq., has earned a Law degree from Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State—18 years after obtaining his first degree from Ekiti State University (EKSU).
Odidi, who initially graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree, returned to the academic trenches to fulfil a long-held dream of pursuing justice and expanding his professional reach. His dedication paid off with the successful completion of his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme, leading to his recent call to the Nigerian Bar.
Now a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Odidi has added several feathers to his cap. He is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (AICMC), a certified MTI mediator, and a member of the International Law Association (ILA), Nigeria.
Reflecting on his journey, the legal practitioner described his return to the university nearly two decades later as a bold move rooted in purpose.
“It was not an easy road, but I believed in personal growth and the pursuit of relevance in a changing world. The law is my tool for societal impact,” he said.
Odidi’s inspiring story offers hope and motivation to professionals considering a second career or higher academic pursuit. He is currently making significant strides in legal advocacy, alternative dispute resolution, and mediation.
His remarkable transition proves that it’s never too late to chase a dream or redefine one’s path.
