The Ondo State chapter of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) has applauded the appointment of Mr. Idowu Ajanaku as Commissioner for Information and Orientation, describing it as strategic and well-deserved.
In a statement jointly signed by the chapter chairman, Sunday Kolawole, and secretary, Richard Ilesanmi, the association expressed confidence in Mr. Ajanaku’s capacity to reposition the ministry for more effective public enlightenment and media engagement.
According to the statement, Ajanaku’s wealth of experience in journalism and public affairs will go a long way in strengthening the state’s information machinery and improving the flow of credible information between the government and the citizens.
“The appointment is a step in the right direction. It reflects the governor’s commitment to putting seasoned professionals in key positions,” the statement read.
The association, made up of researchers, scholars, and communication practitioners, further pledged to collaborate with the ministry in promoting media literacy, strategic communication, and evidence-based research aimed at enhancing civic engagement in Ondo State.
Mr. Ajanaku, who hails from Idogun in Ose Local Government Area, was among the 16 commissioners inaugurated earlier in the week by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
