Ipinsagba: No Automatic Tickets for Lawmakers in 2027

by Roving

Senator Jide Ipinsagba has debunked claims suggesting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is offering automatic return tickets to serving National Assembly members ahead of the 2027 elections.

Speaking to journalists in Akure, the Ondo North Senator described the reports as mere speculation without any official backing.

“As a procedural person, I only act on documented facts,” Ipinsagba stated. “There has been no formal communication to that effect, and as far as I’m concerned, it remains a rumour.”

While dismissing the idea of blanket tickets, the lawmaker stressed that lawmakers who have delivered quality representation deserve another term, adding that performance should guide re-election decisions.

Reflecting on his stewardship in the Senate, Ipinsagba listed notable interventions across education, healthcare, and infrastructure in the six local government areas of Ondo North.

“My people remain my priority. We’ve made significant progress in key sectors, and we’re awaiting final approval for an ICT centre in Ikare-Akoko,” he said.

He also expressed deep concern over the poor condition of federal roads in the senatorial district, vowing to sustain his push for federal attention.

“The situation of our roads is dire. We will keep pressing the relevant authorities to intervene decisively,” he assured.

On the proposed creation of Ose State, Ipinsagba confirmed that the bill had passed first reading at the House of Representatives and would receive thorough scrutiny when it gets to the Senate.

“We will ensure that the interests of our people are fully protected in the deliberation process,” he added.
